This And This
30, eh? A pretty good age to be. I got to enjoy a small party with Hephzibah, Angel and sleeping Truth. Here I am holding my cake and looking sad. The next photo is probably more accurate.

I requested to have some of the good pizza from in town for my birthday lunch. It has been too long since I had some good pizza. It hit the spit just fine.
I'm quite excited about this next photo. It is a photo of photos. We are going to be visiting Karnataka in August for a couple weeks to introduce Truth to all of Hephzibah's relatives. About a week ago, on a nice dry day, we went out to attempt our first family photo. We were trying to find some nice flowers to stand by with not much luck until we drove by this one house. A man was working outside taking care of his plants and flowers. We walked up to his gate and asked if we could use his yard to snap a couple photos. He was quite a kind man about the whole thing. So we got a few of these framed family photos made up to give to Hephzibah's parents and grandparents. I like how they frame photos here and it is all done at a pretty good price. The other two photos are part of my birthday gift. Before the monsoon started, I took this and this photo. I thought it would be neat to get them developed to hang in our place.

It was a nice and extra relaxing birthday.

One Mumf!!!!!

We had a small tiny party to celebrate one month with Truth. I

Later, Hephzibah was making me laugh with her fashion. So, I upset her by taking her photo.

It's been a month full of so many new experiences and changes in our lives! It has been tiring and wonderful!
First month photos, Here.
The Week
With Hephzibah feeling better, we are starting to get all of our different responsibilities worked out at the center. Here is the past week in photos. Sleeping photo, Sunday morning service, Tuesday Kidz-Up, Angel with Truth, Truth with her toilet paper necklace, and a new toy.

I was trying to post this last night but had technical difficulties. So, imagine you are reading this yesterday.

Comparisons
An early birthday card arrived for me today from my parents. Inside, there was this photo of me, as a baby, sitting next to my older brother, Vaughn.

On the back of the photo it says, "Cake made by Wanda Heise when we brought Cameron home from the hospital. July 31, 1978" So, that photo was taken when I was three days old. I tried to find a photo of Truth in a similar pose and the best choice was also taken on the third day.

And here is the fun comparison photo...

Paperwork
Firstly, we had our Wednesday prayer and dinner meeting again, today being Wednesday. I took some video that I had hopes of putting up on this post. Those plans fell through after I sat here for an hour waiting for it to load and then a whole lot of nothingness to show for my effort. I'll have to try again tomorrow. But I did take this one photo that turned out really nicely, I think. Unlike last week, Truth slept through the whole meeting.

Earlier today, I ran into town to pick up the birth certificate. I was quite excited to receive it with absolutely no headaches. Paperwork is not always the easiest thing in India so we are quite thankful.

Yesterday And Today
Yesterday Cameron and my sister Angel had been to beach with Truth to give her some sun. She was getting sun at the the hospital but she hasn't had much this week so they decided to take her to beach on sunny day for her first visit. It was only a short visit.

Below here are some photos that Angel took while at the beach.

Today was Truth's first Sunday service and my first time after the delivery. You can see Sumitra holding the baby as she is oldest she got to hold first.

Here is Laxmi holding Truth. She is one of the children who is regular at all the programs.

And here is a cute picture of a daddy sleeping with the baby. They both had long day and Truth is more relaxed when she is with her dad.

Baby Bath
Here are some photos of Angel and I giving Truth a bath. I picked up this little plastic bath tub thinking it would make things easier, but once any soap or shampoo gets involved, Truth just slides all over the place. That's why she is crying in the second photo. I think it will be a two person job, to give her a bath, until she gets a bit bigger and can fit properly in the tiny seat.

The cheapest diapers are also the cheapest made diapers. These ones, for example, the tape at the waist gives out after a couple seconds. So we have to add a little extra tape to secure things for the night. I also like to use too much powder, just for fun.

Truth is now two weeks old and doing really great. Hephzibah is doing pretty good and still enjoying her rest at home since the delivery.

This And That...
Truth keeps surprising us with how active and alert she is. We have a few toys for her to play with but she prefers to stare at us and make funny faces most of the time. She enjoys kicking and swinging her arms around, as seen in the next photo.

Next photo is just after her first bath at home. Every baby needs a full and healthy coat of powder all over their body!

This is Truth's portable bed with mosquito net. It's also nice for draping a sheet over to block out the light when she is needing a nap. I call it "The Cocoon".

And lastly, enjoying a good sleep in a blanket made by Hephzibah during the pregnancy period.

We are starting to figure things out. The trickiest part is the night, of course. Best is when we can keep her awake from 10 to 12. This has made for the best night sleeping for everyone. We canceled on the idea of Hephzibah and baby coming to the service this morning. So, I went with her mother and sister, who are helping out with everything quite nicely at home.

Back Home With Truth
Hey!!!, we're all back home! The hospital was good and all, but...

As if I'm not pale enough, I have to endure the flash too.
All the photos of the past week can be found here. From there, you can view the images in larger sizes and improved quality. For example, Mom, if you are going to print anything, use the larger images.

Almost Home...
We're starting to have quite a fun time with Truth as she is responding more and more to her surroundings each day.

Below, Truth is trying to stay awake through her Bible story time. I managed to find a pretty nice picture Bible a couple of days ago. I like it for the quantity of pictures on each page. Today's story was Cain and Abel.

And, sleep...

And, naked sleep...

Tomorrow evening, we come home. Yay!

Seventh Day
Two more days left at the hospital. We will all be coming home Thursday evening. I think we are all ready for the change.

OK, Truth has been pretty mellow so far. We have been pretty lucky, I think. Yes she does cry, but it tends to be for short lengths and for understandable reasons; hungry, too cold, too hot, wanting attention, etc. But sometimes she will be sleeping so calmly only to erupt a moment later. Ten seconds later and she is back to sleep. Nothing much to it, just entertaining to watch the extremes.

Baby also received two injections today. She cried, but no more than when her diaper is changed.

This next photo shows my favorite of Truth's expressions. She seems to be pondering over the most complex of mathematical problems.

And some more sleeping to wrap things up...
